I understand your reservations about going ORGANIC! I looked at organic foods for several years and just plain said , " I Can't Afford it!" and moved on. Was it really all that good for us? If so, why hasn't it always been organic? Why did they move to putting pesticides on our foods?
My research came down to laziness and money. YEP! Imagine that! Like everything else it seems those two things are what drive society. How can we make more money and work less. They saw that the pest were eating their crops which meant a loss of monies. Instead of using natural ways to protect their crops scientist came up with ways to spray toxic ingredients to kill the pest. Instead of doing a little more work to keep the produce safe and humans safe they went for easy and more product yield. You can read more on organic farming here and the use of essential oils as pesticides.
1. Going Organic in the KITCHEN! Fruits and Vegetables. If you can't go to Trader Joe's or Wholefoods to buy everything organic then you need to consider the Dirty Dozen and the Clean Dozen. Get the app on your phone so you won't have to memorize it. That way your are buying what is most important and safe for you and your family. I for one find sales and find that organic is usually only 20 cents more expensive in some cases. Bananas for one. Organic runs about 15 to 20 cents more a pound.

2. You can now buy canned goods that are organic as well. Walmart even carries a line but I still prefer to buy WildOats brand. They do not put a toxic coating on the inside of their cans. Canned organic veggies and beans run around $99 a can
3. Organic Frozen foods are available as well. This helps to not have as much waste from fresh foods. They pick them at the peak of freshness and the freezing them helps keep them until you are ready to eat them. I don't like them as well but it can save you on money. They work great for fruit smoothies and vegetable stir fry!
4. Going Organic in the BATHROOM! Have you heard of this? Well, it is just as important as your food. What you put on your body absorbs into your bloodstream within 26 seconds. So absorbing organic ingredients is important. Don't you think? So look for organic personal care products and even better look for ToxicFree label like this!

5. Decide what is most important to you and start replacing items. My choice is to start with shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, body wash, facial wash and moisturizer.
6. This goes for both the kitchen and the bathroom! SHOP SALES! Get good at knowing what is on sale in your local stores and online. Take advantage of wholesale stores online like Essante Organics and in your community like Costco. Farmers markets are great to help your local farmers. The more we buy organic and toxicfree the better the prices will become!
The research has been done on what going organic can do for your health. You can watch this video. Now this video, is just talking about their food. This video talks about the toxins in our products and environment. Remember organic farmers are not only helping us with better foods but better environment, less toxins in the air and water and in you and our future generations.
I hope these few things help you to get started going organic. Drop me a comment below and let me know how you do. If you want more personal help, you can book an appointment with me.
